Steven Andersen is the principal and founder of Cascade Planning Associates, a land use services company originally opened in White Salmon, Washington, in November of 1987, to provide technical planning support to public and private clientele in the Columbia River Gorge.

Prior to starting the consulting business, Steven served as the planning director for Klickitat County, Washington. His initial work in land use planning after graduating from OSU in 1976 with an MS in Resource Geography, was as a project planner for a consulting company based in La Grande, Oregon, and as the Comprehensive & Environmental Planner for Benton County, Washington.

Lately his interests, outside of keeping the doors of the business open, have been spending time with his grandchildren, hiking in the Gorge and turning wood on a lathe that was handed down from his grandfather.

Steven and his wife, Juanita, live in the Columbia River Gorge at Mosier, OR.

Students interested in considering a career in land use planning are
encouraged to contact Steven via e-mail at any time with questions. Also, if
you would like to meet with him on a day when the BOA meets in the fall or
spring, let him know via e-mail in advance so a visit can be arranged.
